About Me

11403359_10155640821540018_1324676344529681026_nHi, I’m Natalie and I became a Hypnobirthing teacher after my own birthing experience  left me with a passion for positive birth and a desire to help as many women approach birth in this exciting way. I have a Diploma in HypnoBirthing, the KG Method, which is accredited by the Royal College of Midwives and I am a member of the Hypnobirthing Association.

However, I believe that the most important thing you  need to know about me is that I  never thought I would ever be able to give birth. Honestly. My lack of superpowers and low pain threshold left me at a loss as to how I could ever have a baby. I know many women feel the same way.

The moment my positive pregnancy test revealed itself to me, my biggest dream came true, and collided with my biggest nightmare, (hospitals and pretty much all things medical). It was my fears that lead me to pursue another way of giving birth. One that could perhaps avoid unnecessary medical intervention altogether and even hospitals. That is how I came across hypnobirthing and having a fully natural birth at home. Not only did I achieve that, but by the end of my  course, I was voluntarily having needles stuck in me during acupuncture sessions; (much to the shock of anyone who knows me and my feelings towards needles); by using some of the techniques I had learned to help me combat my fears. My little girl’s birth was easily the most incredible thing I have ever done and left me on an absolute high for days after… until of course I realised I hadn’t slept in a week!

You can read my full birth story in the Birth Stories section.

So truly, if I can manage my lifelong fears to become genuinely excited about giving birth…I think there’s a good chance that you can prepare for the best birth for you too. In fact I believe that so completely that I decided to train as a Katharine Graves Hypnobirthing teacher to help more women understand their inherent ability to have a calm and exciting birth. It is now my absolute passion to change the way society views birth, one positive, comfortable labour at a time.
My aim is that my classes help to foster a safe, supportive environment for couples to explore their feelings, hopes and fears surrounding labour, birth & early parenting. I want to give mothers and their birth companions confidence in their inherent ability to manage their birth journey- wherever it may take them.

So, if you want to learn more, please get in touch.  I’d be more than happy to answer any questions you may have and look forward to hearing from you.
